The LENA Developmental Snapshot

Why wonder? With the LENA Developmental Snapshot, you can find out quickly whether you need to be concerned with your child’s language development.

Diagnoses of language delays and disorders are on the rise. This isn’t necessarily a cause for concern rather a reason to make sure that your child is developing normally. During the first three years of life a child’s brain blossoms, absorbing language, setting the foundation for future learning and achievement. On a month-to-month basis you can use the Developmental Snapshot to measure your child’s expressive and receptive language skills—important indicators of your child’s language development and cognitive abilities. If your child is developing on a normal or advanced trajectory there is not necessarily any need for concern. But if your child is delayed the Developmental Snapshot provides you with the information you need to know to better ensure that your child is exposed to an optimal language environment. Remember, whatever your child’s score it’s not too late to make a difference.
