Developmental Snapshot Q & A

Unlike paper-based tests, the Developmental Snapshot is easy to access online and is scored instantly. It's cheap, fast, and easy. In addition, your child's scores are stored and plotted on a dynamic graph.

Only 5–10 minutes. There are 52 age-ordered questions to which you answer "Yes" or "Not Yet." Once you answer Not Yet five times in a row you're done and the assessment is immediately scored.

Your credit card number is only used as part of the account authorization process; no charge is assessed. Once your account is authorized, you will be billed on a monthly basis only for the developmental snapshots that you use during that particular month. This is not a subscription service.

You have a couple of options. If you're concerned, you can make an appointment with a speech-language professional (SLP) for a comprehensive evaluation. Otherwise, we recommend increasing your child's exposure to adult words and boosting the number of parent-child conversational interactions your child has—two ways that have been proven to optimize your child's language development potential. You may also invest in LENA Home and use it to measure and monitor your child's language development.

No. We store your child's assessments in a confidential manner and enable you to view your child's past and current assessments either separately or as a progress-monitoring report.
